17 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: March 12-17

The week is filled with St. Patrick’s Day related beer events. There are even a couple to choose from to kick off next week on the actual St. Pat’s.

Wednesday, March 12

Ray’s Bar (8930 W. North Ave.) celebrates women in beer with the Women’s Beer and Spirits Collective. They’ll be pouring beer from Revolution Brewing and 3 Sheeps Brewing and $1 from each beer sold benefits the Wisconsin Women’s Network.

Lakefront Brewery is having a release party for My Turn: Nolan, an Irish export stout, at The Gig (1132 E. Wright St.) at 6 p.m.

Thursday, March 13

It’s Import Night at Kegel’s Inn (5901 W. National Ave.) from 6 to 9 p.m. Sample all sorts of beer styles from more than 30 European breweries for just a $35 ticket.

The Explorium Library Society meets at the Explorium Brewpub Wauwatosa (11200 W. Burleigh St.) at 7 p.m. Cost is $20 to sip on rare beers.

Friday, March 14

Discount Liquor is offering samples of Guinness and Whole Hog Gaelic Storm Imperial Irish Red from 3 to 5 p.m.

Saturday, March 15

Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) releases its always delicious Mystic Knot Barrel-Aged Irish-Style Coffee Stout and variants, which include Mystic Knot Peanut Butter Cup, Mystic Knot Hazelnut, and Mystic Knot Double Shot Brandy. The party runs from noon to 5 p.m. and includes food, Irish dancing and music. Preorder now.

Vennture Brew Co. West (2970 N. Brookfield Rd.) celebrates its first anniversary with a party that starts at 9 a.m.  They’ll be tapping a cask of Kerry Me Home Irish Red at 11 a.m. and a cask of Paddy O’Furniture Stout at 1 p.m. More fun and frivolity is also planned.

New Barons Brewing Co-op (2018 S. 1st St.) is throwing a St. Patrick’s Day party. They’ll be tapping Doc O’Clock Irish Stout, serving pastrami and hosting live music.

Broken Bat Brewing (135 E. Pittsburgh Ave.) is teaming up with Milwaukee Firefighters Local 215 for the release of its Irish Red Ale at noon. Local firefighters will be serving as guest bartenders and a portion of the proceeds benefit the Professional Firefighters Charitable Foundation and Ignite the Spirit.

Moran’s Pub (912 Milwaukee Ave., South Milwaukee) hosts a St. Patrick’s Day Beer Run at 3:30 p.m. Participants run around the block and drink a small beer at each lap. Tickets are $30.

Try samples from 3 Sheeps Brewing at Discount Liquor from noon to 2 p.m.

1840 Brewing Company (401 N. Main St., West Bend) is hosting a fundraiser for founder Stephanie Vetter’s cancer battle from noon to 4 p.m. 

Sunday, March 16

Get a jump on St. Patrick’s Day fun with Slainte! a pre-party happening at Dead Bird Brewing (1726 Dr. William Finlayson St.) from noon to 6 p.m. They’ll be releasing Shillelagh Irish Stout, which will pair nicely with Irish dancing and music.

Station No. 06 (6800 W. Becher St.) hosts a St. Pat’s themed meat raffle. You get a ticket for every Guinness, Harp, or Smithwick’s beer or Tullamore Dew cocktail you purchase.

North Pillar Brewing (212 E. North Ave., Waukesha) is throwing a St. Patrick’s Day party with Irish dancing, and plenty of beer, of course.

Monday, March 17

The annual St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl, hosted by the Explorium Hospitality Group, starts at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $50.

Raised Grain Brewing (1725 Dolphin Dr.) is open from 3 to 10:30 p.m. and pouring pints of Guitar City Green for just $3.17. That’s really all you need to know.

Saturday, April 5: The 9th Anniversary CeleBrewtion is happening at Urban Harvest Brewing (1024 S. 5th St.) from 1 to 8 p.m. They’ll be releasing PriBock Maibock and Hopsitively Hazy IPA.

Thursday, June 19: Sure, this seems like a while from now, but the New Glarus beer dinner at Tess is already taking reservations. Call 414-964-8377 to make one, because it’s sure to sell out.
