1. Wolf Down Breakfast at Uncle Wolfie’s
BRIANNA SCHUBERT, DIGITAL EDITOR
This past Saturday, my fiancé and I had a nice little date morning at Uncle Wolfie’s (234 E. Vine St.). It was busy, but we got there just before the big brunch rush (highly recommend). It was nice because while we waited outside (only for like 10 minutes), we ordered coffees and they brought the mugs out to us. Thankfully, it was sunny and fairly warm. Inside, we sat at the bar, and it was honestly a vibe. I ordered the Spamlette and he got the breakfast poutine – both were delicious. And then after, in true date morning fashion, we went over to 414loral – which is right up the road – to get some flowers. Next time, I want to pop into Orange & Blue Co., which is literally right next door.
2. Check Out a Women’s Beer Event
CHRIS DROSNER, EXECUTIVE EDITOR
We’re about a third of the way into Women’s History Month, and if you haven’t checked out one of the ambitious schedule of events from the Women’s Beer and Spirits Collective, I highly advise it. Saturday’s International Women’s Day event at Centraal Grand Cafe and Tappery was filled with fellowship, excellent drinks (that Val-Dieu Blanche de Liège Rosé, good lord) and stories from women in the industry. It’s a good way to support various women-oriented nonprofits at a time and collect some positive vibes when bad behavior toward women in the hospitality sector is again rearing its head. Saturday’s event supported Sojourner Family Peace Center, but there are many events left; Wednesday’s gathering at Ray’s Bar (formerly Growler Gallery) in Tosa benefits the Wisconsin Women’s Network.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!
3. Watch Us on TMJ4’s New Show
EVAN MUSIL, ARTS AND CULTURE EDITOR
This may come as a surprise, but I’m a big fan of Milwaukee Magazine. In fact, I’m wearing a MilMag T-shirt as I’m writing this, sitting inside the MilMag office. I’m very dedicated. So of course I’ll be tuning in to TMJ4’s new show “What’s Brewing Wisconsin,” where every Thursday at 3 p.m. our editor-in-chief and publisher Carole Nicksin will appear to share what’s going on in and around our lovely city and talk to interesting people, places and things to do. You can catch the first of MilMag’s weekly segment this Thursday, March 13.
4. Make Homemade Pizza Dough
ANN CHRISTENSON, DINING EDITOR
It’s a problem when you don’t decide what you want to make for dinner until 6 p.m. on a Sunday. A real problem when you decide what you really want is a homemade pizza. This pizza dough recipe is one I use in a pinch because it’s fast and pretty good. Once you’ve made the dough (be sure to use a scale to measure your ingredients!), it just needs 30 minutes to rise in a warm spot.
5. Eat an Entire Margherita Pizza at Wy’East
ARCHER PARQUETTE, MANAGING EDITOR
All right, so I need to learn to control myself around delicious food. I know it. Everyone who’s ever eaten within a ten-yard radius of me knows it. (Sorry for the splashing and the flying crumbs.) And now the good folks at Wy’East Pizza probably know it, too. I recently visited and ordered their Margherita Pizza. When I picked it up, I hoped to look like I was splitting the pizza with friends, but I’m certain they could tell from my beady eyes, awkward demeanor, and troll-like visage that this was a pizza to be consumed alone, sweaty and in the dark. And it was. And the pizza was great. And perhaps I should have limited my portions and avoided the belly-bursting aches that followed, but hey, you live you learn.
