The Wisconsin State Fair kicks off and along with myriad unique food on a stick options, they’ll also be pouring three unique beers on the grounds. The new Leinenkugel’s Cream Puff Ale is described as having a creamy mouthfeel and slightly sweet vanilla finish. It’ll be available throughout the fairgrounds and Leinie’s is donating $50 from every keg sold to the Wisconsin State Fair Park Foundation.
Lakefront Brewery also has a new special beer planned for the State Fair. Sil’s Mini Donut Ale is made with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla and is an homage to Lars Wicklund’s mini donut institution (IYKYK). You can try Sil’s Mini Donut Ale at Benno’s Lakefront Brewery Biergarten and The Micro.
Central Waters is bringing back its Funnel Cake Cream Ale. You can give it a try at both Badger Bites and Buzzy Badger spots at the fair.

It’s not in the Milwaukee area, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention Wisconsin’s biggest beer festival, the Great Taste of the Midwest at Olin Park in Madison. Tickets sell out in May, but the organizers of the nonprofit event have a forum for ticket exchange (without markup from the $70 face value) in the event’s official Facebook group. If you’re feeling lucky the day of the festival, you can usually score a ticket or two outside the gates.
