Bring a t-shirt to Component Brewing (2018 S. First St.) and liven it up by adding a patch or two. EMND is bringing their apparel expertise to a workshop that shows you how to sew patches on whatever shirt you bring. Tickets are $10 at EMND or Component or $15 online.
The Milwaukee Beer Society is taking a field trip to Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.) at 6 p.m.
Thursday Aug. 13
Irish Fest kicks off for another year at Henry Maier Festival Park (200 N. Harbor Dr.), and yes, of course there’s beer. Lakefront Brewery will once again be pouring its beer at the southern end of the grounds. The Celtic fun continues until Sunday.
Friday, Aug. 14
New Barons Brewing Co-op is pouring at the Fox Point Beer Garden (7343 N. Longacre Rd.). Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 2 to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Try samples from Central Waters Brewing at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 4 to 6 p.m. Discount Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) is pouring samples from hometown brewery Raised Grain from 3 to 5 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 15
Amorphic Beer is pouring at Center Street Daze from 11 to 7 p.m. The festival in Riverwest takes place on Center Street from Holton to Humboldt.
Four bands are headed to 3 Sheeps Brewing (1809 North Ave., Sheboygan) for Battle of the Bands championship. The first band, Madison-based The Racing Pulses, takes the stage at 7 p.m.
Sample beers from Central Waters (noon to 2 p.m.) and 3 Sheeps (1 to 3 p.m.) at Discount Liquor Waukesha.

Saturday, Aug. 22: Station No. 06 (6800 W. Becher St., West Allis) celebrates its seventh anniversary with a big party. Live music, barbecue and rare beers are all on the agenda.
Saturday, Aug. 22: Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.) is throwing a block party to mark its ninth anniversary.
Sunday, Aug. 23: The Great Milwaukee Bike Race returns for its ninth year. Participants start at either Component Brewing or Gathering Place, ride to the other brewery, and then return to the starting point. Beer drinking happens all along the route.
Saturday, Sept. 12: Tune up your bike for Tour de Taps, a leisurely ride along both the Oak Leaf Trail and Hank Aaron Trail that includes stops at the War Memorial Beer Garden, MobCraft Beer and the Estabrook Park Beer Garden. The fun starts at 11 a.m. and wraps up with a party at Estabrook at 4 p.m.
