A New Vendor is Coming to Crossroads Collective Food Hall

Dia Bom will serve Asian and Latin fusion dishes.

A business that combines Asian and Latin cuisines will debut on Jan. 17 at Crossroads Collective food hall (2238 N. Farwell Ave.). Dia Bom, as it is called, will replace Heaven’s Table BBQ, which moved to a stand-alone space in December. Dia Bom’s owner/head chef, Ramses Alvarez, attended culinary school in Mexico City and most recently headed up a private catering business in Milwaukee.

His seasonal menu will incorporate Japanese kushiyaki (skewered and grilled foods) and Chinese bao (bread-like dumplings with sweet or savory fillings) creations. Dishes will include lobster enchilada rangoon, skewered chicken mole, chorizo bao with yuzu avocado, nopales kimchee and churro bao with strawberries.

“It’s all about having fun and bringing love and passion to each plate,” said Alvarez by press release. “I’m having fun playing with some of my favorite flavors and techniques, and I think that guests will have fun dining at Dia Bom. I mean, everything is more fun when it’s on a skewer.”

Alvarez plans to open two other locations of Dia Bom – at the Flour & Feed Marketplace under development in Bay View, and a quick-serve street food concept at Zocalo Food Park.
