Lynee’s Favorite Things

Although I didn’t grow up on a farm, I certainly felt like a little farm girl when I moved to Milwaukee at the green age of 18. I sat down at my job interview at the beautiful Carenza salon, nervously tugging at my awkward outfit, and waited. Everyone was so fashionable, there was runway shows playing on flat screens everywhere with the most beautiful clothing, everyone had great makeup and hair -needless to say: I needed some work. Shockingly I was hired and it’s been a love/love relationship with fashion ever since. Then I struck a cord of even better fashion luck:…

Although I didn’t grow up on a farm, I certainly felt like a little farm girl when I moved to Milwaukee at the green age of 18. Everyone was so fashionable, there was runway shows playing on flat screens everywhere with the most beautiful clothing, everyone had great makeup and hair -needless to say: I needed some work. Shockingly I was hired and it’s been a love/love relationship with fashion ever since. Then I struck a cord of even better fashion luck: Renotta Thompson the owner of Next Door Boutique hired me to blog fashion trends, and tag along with her to buyers market. So what are the best things we’ve seen in the fashionista world?

Favorite Dress

Pouch Reversible Dress

Why: You can wear it 7 different ways. It’s so comfortable, and it hits just below the knee. This blue/purple color is my favorite, but it comes in a variety of colors. How can you wear it? One shoulder, halter, plunge halter, twisted halter, strapless, strapless knotted front, skirt. It’s lovely in every way.

Favorite Jeans

7 For All Mankind Dojo

Why: They’ve got just enough stretch, the wide leg opening looks like perfection with a pair of pointy pumps, the rise still covers everything when you bend over, and most importantly, the fit is phenomenal. If you’ve ever wondered “why in the world you would pay x amount of money for a pair of jeans, mine are just fine”. Go try them on. Look in the mirror. Go put back on your old favorite jeans and you will walk out with a new favorite that most definitely makes you look thinner and younger. Believe me. I never spend more that $50 on a pair of jeans before this 🙂

Favorite Jacket

BB Dakota

Why: This is one of my favorite jackets from last fall, however ALL of their jackets/coats are pretty amazing. They are very reasonably priced, they fit great and there are a ton of cute ones for this coming fall season. One of my upcoming favorites is a “Navajo” inspired jacket with fur trim, fall 2011.

Favorite Top

Splendid

Why: I can’t put my finger on ONE favorite top. Great fit, quality product, wonderful colors, tons of different styles to choose from.

Favorite Bra

Le Mystere Tisha

Why: Comfortable, they hold up for years when washed correctly, no visible lines, everything stays “in place” 🙂 Bonus: It’s Oprahs favorite bra!

All of the above products can be found at Next Door Boutique in Brookfield, WI.

Favorite Panty

Hanky Panky

Why: It’s the new going commando without going commando. Completely line-free, so comfortable you can sleep in them, holds up FOREVER panty. You can find these at Allure in Brookfield on Bluemound Road.

Favorite Funky Shoes

Naughty Monkey: Open Talk

Why: You will really have to search to find this exact style, but I’ve been wearing them for years and people literally chase me down to ask where they are from! Wins best conversation piece at a party!

Favorite Classic Shoe

Vince Camuto: Kain Blush Patent Leather Pump

Why: Made reeeaaallllyy well (that little piece on the bottom of the heel has yet to even show signs of wear), super comfortable (believe it!), and it’s pointy but not too pointy. Just shows who’s boss 🙂

Favorite Purse

Hobo International

Why: They are purses made by women, for women. I love them because they have all these secret pockets and hiding places for your “stuff”. Many of their styles are very sleek and classic, but they’ve got their fun ones too! The quality of them is wonderful. You definitely get what you pay for!

Do you have any of these products? Do you love/not love? Tell us why!
