Conor Sweeney taking hands-on approach to his job as senior aide for Rep. Paul Ryan.
In an article that also appears on the New York Times home page, Conor Sweeney, an MU grad and senior aide to Rep. Paul Ryan, is seen helping type or edit the speech Ryan will deliver tomorrow night as part of the Republican National Convention.
Sweeney has also served as a spokesman for Ryan. He graduated from Marquette in 2007 and, according to his LinkedIn profile, Sweeney has worked in the U.S. House of Representatives since May, 2007.
In the Times article, an adviser to Ryan tells the paper, “Expect a lot of Janesville in [the speech].” Yesterday, Ryan attended a rally at Janesville’s Joseph A. Craig High School, his alma mater, that the Journal Sentinel’s Don Walker called “part pep rally, part high school reunion and part block party.” Janesville-ites will no doubt be tuning in tomorrow night when Ryan will formally accept presumptive presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s nomination for vice president.
