Fortunately Milwaukee’s own Corey Hart has an easy-going rasp to his voice and an ear for melody that should win over even the most snarky crowd ready to sarcastically request “Sunglasses At Night.” (1001 E. There are few musicians in Milwaukee with the distinguished pedigree of Scott Schoenbeck. The unassuming bass maestro has been a part of such influential local bands as The Promise Ring, Alligator Gun and Pele along with indie heroes Dashboard Confessional in his illustrious career. His latest project, The Snowbirds, seems poised to add another notch to Schoenbeck’s belt as a solid, roots-infused alt-country band. (2496 S. Wentworth Ave., cactusclubmilwaukee.com)

Saturday, Jan. 21: Glen Campbell with Instant People at Pabst Theater, 7 p.m. ($35-$55)
Glen Campbell has done a lot in his storied life. The Rhinestone Cowboy himself has recorded countless hit songs, won a slew of Grammy’s, hosted his own variety show and been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. But perhaps his most heart-wrenching contribution to music is his artistic coming-to-terms with his own mortality. Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease last year, Campbell released the hauntingly intimate retrospective Ghost On The Canvas and embarked on a “Goodbye Tour” to thank all of the fans who have supported him through more than a half century of music making. The Lemonheads (aka Evan Dando and a revolving door of backup musicians) enjoyed a solid level of college-radio indie cred back in the late ’80s and early ’90s. Although the band’s cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s “Mrs. Robinson” and 1992’s solid effort It’s a Shame About Ray garnered some much-deserved national attention, The Lemonheads never really crossed over to the mainstream and eventually dissolved, only to be reborn in 2005 by Dando.
