Justin Carlisle is ready. Well, almost. Just a few inspections and preparations remain before Ardent opens its door (1751 N. Farwell Ave.). The latest update from the chef-owner is that he’s accepting reservations for Nov. 1 and beyond. The 900-square-foot space seats roughly 20 people – at refinished wood tables and a handmade oak bar. One wall is covered in moss. A china hutch will function as a serving station. The look, Carlisle says, is modern and classic. Carlisle will offer his takes on classics like French onion soup, roasted squash, and beef tartare. Chances are they’ll be more elegant and modern than what you’d imagine.
