Milwaukee has been named a finalist in Outside magazine’s “Best River Town” competition (along with Hood River, Ore.; Nevada City, Calif.; Asheville, N.C.; Nashville, Tenn.; Boise, Idaho; Missoula, Mont.; Durango, Colo.; Ithaca, N.Y.; and Richmond, Va.) The Facebook contest will run through July 10. The finalists were named for their culture, scenery, quality of living and access to the outdoors. Milwaukee has been named a finalist in Outside magazine’s “Best River Town” competition (along with Hood River, Ore.; Nevada City, Calif.; Asheville, N.C.; Nashville, Tenn.; Boise, Idaho; Missoula, Mont.; Durango, Colo.; Ithaca, N.Y.; and Richmond, Va.) The Facebook contest will run through July 10.

The winning town will receive the “Best Town in America” honor and will be featured in the magazine’s 2012 cover, online and on a segment on Outside Television.

Update: Milwaukee is currently ranked 7th in the contest. Richmond is in first place will well over 1,000 votes. Brew Town currently has less than 30.
