In her own words:

All art forms converge in the movies, and that’s why I like writing and talking about them so much. Frankly, I’ve never been able to conquer my addiction to movies. Although I enjoy films mostly because of their escapist entertainment qualities, I love to be enchanted by cinematic artistry, enlightened by a great story, and inspired by memorable performances. When everything works in a film, something magical happens to me, but even if a movie falls short, I can’t wait to share my reaction with others.

After retiring as a college dean, I turned my passion for the cinema into a new career. Now, as a film critic, I see almost 200 movies a year. Fortunately, my husband, children, and grandchildren love movies almost as much as I do!

While working as a film critic, I’ve also found time to:

Reveal everything about my longstanding obsession with the cinema in “Confessions of a Movie Addict,” an amusing life-at-the-movies memoir, which became a bestseller this year in the Amazon Kindle store.

Analyze Susan Sarandon’s remarkable acting career in “Susan Sarandon: A True Maverick,” which received Honorable Mention at the 2007 New York Book Festival.

Co-write with my husband a romantic memoir titled “It Had To Be Us,” first-place E-book winner at the Hollywood Book Festival and bestseller on the Amazon Kindle store.

Develop and teach an online writing course entitled “The Reel Deal: Writing about Movies” for the Long Story Short School of Writing.

Establish ReelTalk Movie Reviews, a website now including over 3500 movie reviews and more than 500 film-related feature articles.

Write monthly film commentary for “The Colorado Senior Beacon.”

Host “Movie Addict Headquarters,” a featured film-related talk show on BlogTalkRadio.

In “Screening History,” author Gore Vidal confessed that as he looked back over his life, he realized the only thing he really liked to do was go to the movies. That makes two of us.
