Wednesday, Nov. 27

Epic Brewing’s Big Bad Baptist series is comprised of outstanding, and underrated, barrel-aged stouts. A ton of them are hitting the tap lines at The Brass Tap (7808 W. Layton Ave.) at 6 p.m.

Doc’s Commerce Smokehouse (754 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave.) hosts Black Wednesday and is pouring a lot of great barrel-aged brews. A timed release schedule runs from noon to 5 p.m. and a fair share of other standouts are available throughout the day.

The Milwaukee Beer Society has a Thanksgiving bottle share scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Best Place (901 W. Juneau Ave.). Bring a special bottle or two.

The Fementorium is releasing Sweater Weather Imperial Milk Stout, and a few variants, at both of its locations. The Cedarburg location (7481 Hwy. 60) opens at 11:30 a.m. and the Wauwatosa Barrel House (6933 W. North Ave.) opens at 4 p.m.

Head to Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) for the release of The Great Yamkin, a sweet potato brew. Timely.

Toppling Goliath is the guest of honor at the Thanksgiving Day Pre-Party at Draft & Vessel (4417 N. Oakland Ave.), which starts at 3 p.m.

Burnhearts (2599 S. Logan Ave.) teams with Bell’s Brewery for a Thanksgiving Eve party. One dollar from every Bell’s beer benefits Movember MKE.

Three Floyds brings samples to Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 4 to 7 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 29

Eagle Park Brewing (823 E. Hamilton St.) is releasing four beers at 11 a.m. including Wrong Way Imperial Stout made with peanut butter, cocoa, vanilla and milk sugar.

The Plumpy series at 1840 Brewing (342 E. Ward St.) includes some tart and tasty beers. On Black Friday, 1840 releases Plumpy Black, made with blackberry, black current and black cherry. Have it on tap or take a bottle home (as long as they last).

Head to Urban Harvest Brewing (1024 S. 5th St.) for the release of Imperial Chocolate Whiskey Stout and Two Step Belgian Dark Strong Ale. The two will begin pouring at noon.

Dead Bird Brewing (1726 N. 5th St.) has a Black Friday Stout Party planned, starting at 11 a.m. Sip on Beanut Putter Imperial Peanut Butter Oatmeal Stout and Bean Water Imperial Java Stout.

A Russian Imperial Stout that has aged for three years in a bourbon barrel is the highlight of Black Friday at Biloba Brewing (2970 N. Brookfield Rd.). Biloba is also offering bottles of its Kriek Lambic. Get there at 1 p.m. to snag yours.

Enlightened Brewing (2020 S. Allis St.) releases Sustained Thought Coffee Stout at 3 p.m. It’s the brewery’s first seasonal release available in cans.

Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 E. North Ave.) hosts Pitch Black Friday starting at 11 a.m. That means the release of Velvet Bulldozer Imperial Stout and L’hiver No. 2 Winter Saison. Both will be available in cans and on draft.

Component Brewing (2018 S. 1st St.) opens at noon. The brewery is releasing Black Currant Stampede, a fruited sour that includes cocoa nibs.

Make the trip to Oconomowoc’s Brewfinity Brewing (N58 W39800 Industrial Rd.) for the release of Chocolate Covered Cherry Stout and deals on all sorts of pours.

Props to Black Husky owner Tim Eichinger for embracing his mistakes. On F*cked Up Friday, Eichinger offers up some mistakes and a few beers that may have been misplaced and recently found, including a partial keg of 2016 Sparkly Eyes.

Both Discount Liquor locations, Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) and Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) open at 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Both will have some Goose Island Bourbon County Stouts and a few variants available. They’ll also have a few other rarities, like one 2017 Sam Adams Utopias.

Westallion Brewing (1825 S. 72nd St.) is releasing Night Ops-0317: Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout with Coffee and will be pouring Candy Cane Lane Peppermint Stout starting at noon.

Try beers from Bavarian Bierhaus (3 to 6 p.m.) and Guinness (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) at Discount Liquor Milwaukee.

Sample Guinness Milk Stout at Discount Liquor Waukesha from 3 to 5 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 30

If you miss out on Eagle Park’s Black Friday release, head there on Saturday when the brewery taps kegs of Barrel-Aged Booze for Breakfast Imperial Stout and Huey Lewis and the Booziest Imperial Brown Ale.

The slightly irreverent theme continues at Black Husky with Sh*t Show Saturday. Brewer Tim Eichinger took leftover beer from a few kegs, put them in a bourbon barrel, and is giving you the chance to find out what that tastes like. Get there at noon to try.
