24 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee this Week: March 12-17

Sunday is a holy day for some, amateur hour for others. Regardless, the week of St. Patrick’s Day means beer-related festivities for all. Sláinte!

Tuesday, March 12

The Women’s Beer and Spirits Collective continues its busy Women’s Month schedule with a trip to Reunion Restaurant (6610 W. Greenfield Ave.). Win cool stuff and free beers by challenging reps from nearly a dozen breweries at arcade games.

Wednesday, March 13

Trillium Brewing is bringing a few of its outstanding East Coast beers to Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) from 4 to 10 p.m.

Supermoon Beer Co. (3145 S. Howell Ave.) is releasing Farn: Batch 003, a mixed culture farmhouse-style saison, this week. Preorder now and pick a bottle up when Supermoon is open this week.

The Cashmere Sweater is back at 1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.). The double dry-hopped double IPA is also available in cans for the first time. 1840 Brewing is also releasing Apricity, a West Coast pale ale. Try them in the tap room all week and take them home beginning on Friday.

Highland House (12741 N. Port Washington Rd.) hosts the Women’s Beer and Spirits Collective. From 5 to 7 p.m. there will be a raffle and $1 from select pints benefits the Sojourner Family Peace Center.

Thursday, March 14

Some beer dinners are special. The Fermentorium event at Mr. B’s – A Bartolotta’s Steakhouse (18380 W. Capitol Dr.) is a great example. Four of the five courses are being created by Mr. B’s chef Nick Aprahamian, and another is being crafted by his cousin and James Beard award winner, Justin Aprahamian. Justin’s brother Matt is the lead brewer at Fermentorium and he’ll be there too. The can’t-miss dinner starts at 6 p.m. and costs $95.

Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) celebrates Pi Day by pairing pie slices with four Lakefront beers. It’s also the day when you can create six amazingly decorated Easter cookies at Frost & Froth, a class happening at Lakefront at 6 p.m. Tickets are $60.

Pi Day at Amorphic Beer (3700 N. Fratney St.) means free pie. Starting at 4 p.m. (and while supplies last) you can indulge on free pie from Honeypie Cafe.

Friday, March 15

Battle of the Bites is taking place at Pilot Project Brewing (1128 N. 9th St.) from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Six Midwest chefs will compete for the best dish and beer pairing. The cost is $79.99 and a portion of the proceeds go to charity.

Clover Shake Cream Ale is hitting the tap lines at Indeed Brewing (530 S. 2nd St.) at 11 a.m.

Enlightened Brewing Company (2020 S. Allis St.) is releasing Moral Luck, a German pilsner.

Try beers from The Rookery at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 3 to 6 p.m. From 5 to 7 p.m. you can try samples of Guinness and get a glass engraved in time for St. Patrick’s Day.

Sample Belgians from Chouffe at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from 3 to 5 p.m.

Saturday, March 16

Sahale Ale Works (1505 Wisconsin Ave., Grafton) is having its St. Patrick’s Day party a day early. From 4 to 10 p.m. they’ll be pouring a few Irish beers, including Pair O’Mount Stout, and hosting live fiddle music. 

At 4 p.m., Black Husky Brewing (909 E. Locust St.) is having a St. Patrick’s Celebration Potluck. Bring an Irish-inspired dish and dress like a leprechaun. They’ll be a leprechaun costume contest at 6 p.m.

This is a unique one. Amorphic is hosting a pair of engineering challenges from 2 to 4 p.m. For Egg Drop – Extreme Edition you are tasked with created a device that will cushion the fall of an egg. For the Unsinkable Challenge you build a boat out of materials provided and try to keep it afloat.

Get the day started right with Bootcamp & Brews at Ope! Brewing Company (6751 W. National Ave.). The 60-minute workout starts at 10:30 a.m. and costs just $20.

Company Brewing (735 E. Center St.) is releasing Capra Flora, a red wine barrel-aged maibock.

Discount Liquor Milwaukee is offering samples from Revolution Brewing from noon to 2 p.m.

Revolution will also be handing out samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha from 3 to 5 p.m.

Sunday, March 17

Explorium Brewpub’s Kill the Keg Pub Crawl will be roving around Milwaukee finishing kegs of Explorium at select stops. You can join the fun at the Greendale location (5300 S. 76th St.) and hop a shuttle to the Third Ward, or just head straight to Explorium Brewpub Third Ward (143 W. St. Paul Ave.) where the crawl begins. Tickets are $50 (Greendale) and $40 (Third Ward).

St. Patrick’s Day means Sandwich Sunday at Enlightened Brewing. At noon, Sweet Smoke BBQ will be offering pastrami Reubens and smoked turkey Rachels. 

Ray’s Growler Gallery has a family-friendly day planned for St. Pat’s. Sample Ruebens from K&L BBQ, sip on Third Space Mystic Knot Barrel-Aged Stout, and listen to bagpipers. 

Raised Grain Brewing (1725 Dolphin Dr., Waukesha) is pouring pints of Guitar City Green for $3.17. The beer, along with The Answerer Irish Red and Outside the Gate Irish Stout, will be available all weekend, just not at this amazing St. Patrick’s Day price.

March 27: Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) hosts another Beer School. This time, bocks are the main course of study. Tickets are $30 and generally sell out.

March 27-28: Tess Restaurant (2499 N. Bartlett Ave.) has a pair of beer dinners with More Brewing coming up. Call 414-964-8377 to reserve a spot.

March 30: The sixth annual MobCraft Sour Fest is happening at the MobCraft taproom (1505 S. 5th St.). Tickets are limited.

March 30: Component Brewing (2018 S. 1st St.) celebrates its second anniversary in its larger location in the Lincoln Warehouse.

April 20: Eagle Park Brewing (S64 W15640 Commerce Center Pkwy., Muskego) has its popular Joint Beer Fest coming up. Get tickets early, because the annual beer fest draws a crowd.
