Bronzeville Week and State Fair are wrapping up this weekend, and the Bloody Mary Festival is here!

1. Greendale Village Days

Greendale is hosting its annual village days with BMX performances, a rummage sale, car show and more entertainment all weekend long. No tickets are required, click here for a full weekend schedule. 

2. State Fair

3. Cheese Capital Jazz & Blues Crawl for the Arts 

FRIDAY FROM 4:30 P.M.-MIDNIGHT | PLYMOUTH ARTS CENTER

Head out to Plymouth this Friday for the 20th annual live music fundraiser. The event will feature 11 live bands, food and silent auctioning. Wristbands are $10.

4. Jeff Dunham Live 

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AT 7 P.M. | THE PABST THEATER

It’s Christmas in August with ventriloquist and comedian Jeff Dunham this Friday and Saturday. These shows will be filmed for Dunham’s Christmas/Holiday stand-up special on Amazon Prime. Tickets are available now. 

5. Wisconsin Avenue Churches Tour

FRIDAY FROM 1-3 P.M. | ST. JAMES EPISCOPAL CHURCH 

To celebrate 50 years of Historic Milwaukee, the organization will host special tours throughout August. A tour guide will walk the group through the downtown Milwaukee churches. Registration is required. Click here for more information.    

6. Charles Esten 

FRIDAY AT 8 P.M. | VIVARIUM 

Actor and musician, most known for his role in “Outer Banks” and “Nashville,” will perform alongside The Belle Weather this Friday. His album “Love Ain’t Pretty” debuted in January. Tickets can be bought online

7. Bronzeville Week 

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY | DOWNTOWN MILWAUKEE 

The final two days of Bronzeville Week – the City of Milwaukee’s annual celebration of African-American culture, history, art, commerce and entertainment – are this Friday and Saturday. Various events will be happening each day, with more information here

8. City of Milwaukee Health Department’s Back to School Health Fair

SATURDAY FROM 9 A.M.-4 P.M. | MILWAUKEE ACADEMY OF SCIENCE 

The 23rd annual Back to School Health Fair will include: school-required immunizations for children (no insurance needed), health screenings for children and adults, free kids backpacks and school supplies (while supplies last), food vendors, and kid-friendly activities. No registration required. 

9. The Bloody Mary Festival 

SATURDAY FROM 10:30 A.M.-6 P.M. | SUMMERFEST GROUNDS

The Bloody Mary Festival is back for a fifth year in Milwaukee. There will be two sessions, each with different times for VIP and general admission members. Tickets will get you: samples of all participating Bloody Marys, one vote for The People’s Choice Award, temporary tattoos and more. Buy tickets here

10. Milwaukee Dragon Boat Festival 

SATURDAY FROM 8 A.M.-4 P.M. | 500 N. HARBOR DRIVE

This annual competition celebrating culture and community, will be held along the Lake Michigan shore. Teams of 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steerer will navigate colorful, dragon-headed boats through the water. There will also be food, performances and activities for all ages. 

11. Bloom Beach Festival 

SATURDAY FROM 1-8 P.M. | BRADFORD BEACH 

Bradford Beach will transform this Saturday, as Bloom Beach hosts Milwaukee’s first ever EDM beach festival. RSVP is required here, and guests can expect EDM artists, local vendors and interactive attractions. 

12. Morning Glory Art Fair

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY FROM 10 A.M – 5 P.M. | 1111 VEL R. PHILLIPS AVE.

The Morning Glory Art Fair will host 130+ vendors from around the country showcasing ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, painting, mixed media, photography, wood and much more. This event is free to attend.

13. Mae Simpson

SATURDAY AT 8 P.M. | VIVARIUM

With special guest The Foxgloves, Mae Simpson – City Pages reader’s choice “Best New Band” – will be performing live. They’re best known for their funk, soul and rock and roll. Tickets can be bought here

14. UNCF Walk for Education

SATURDAY AT 8 A.M. | VETERANS PARK

The 40th annual UNCF Walk for Education is Saturday at Veterans Park. Proceeds will help UNCF raise funds to support their students. Register here

15. An Extraordinary Evening with Adam: A Celebration of Seafood

SATURDAY FROM 7-10 P.M. | LUPI & IRIS

Chef Adam Siegel will prepare a nine course Mediterranean seafood meal, including caviar, lobster, langoustine & scallop. Each course will be paired with a hand-selected wine. This event is limited to 12 guests, reserve your spot here

17. Bike Brew City

SATURDAY AT 10 A.M. | ESTABROOK PARK  

Enjoy a scenic 11.5 mile bike ride from Estabrook Park to Brown Deer park and back. Riders of all ages are welcome, and riders under 15 ride free. All proceeds from the ride will go to i.c. stars Milwaukee and the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. Secure your spot here

18. Sapphira Cristál
