1. Gaming Hoopla
FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY | BAIRD CENTER
Whether you’re a gaming pro or looking to meet a new gaming buddy, game for a good cause this weekend with Aurora Cancer Care. Hoopla is an annual convention run by cancer charity non-profit the Hoopla Foundation with hundreds of scheduled events, open gaming areas and more. Last year marked the 17th year of Gaming Hoopla, which resulted in a donation of $40,409 to Aurora Cancer Care. 2. Scrap and Yap – Junk Journaling
FRIDAY FROM 5 P.M. TO 8 P.M. | THE GREY HOUSE STUDIO
Collect your scraps and get your yap on at the Grey House Studio for a fun and creative happy hour. Whether you’re a seasoned junk journaler or wanting to get started, this space is for everyone. Crafters are welcome to bring their own supplies or use the studio’s for a fee of $15. A complete junk journal kit is available for $30. If you need a little help, there will be a guided table where instructors can go over ideas, techniques and inspiration. Tickets are available online.
3. Wild for Rhinos
SATURDAY FROM 9:30 A.M. TO 3 P.M. | MILWAUKEE COUNTY ZOO
The Milwaukee Country Zoo is going wild for Rhinos this Saturday in celebration of the brand new habitats and Ladish Co. Foundation Rhino Care Center. Eastern black rhinos Kianga and Zuri will now have access to a renovated outdoor yard. The day is packed with festivities including behind-the-scenes tours, zookeeper Q&A, Rhino Romp Scavenger Hunt and more. For a full schedule of events, visit the Zoo’s website.

4. Free Axe Throwing
THURSDAY FROM 5 P.M. TO 10 P.M. | NORTHSOUTH CLUB
AXE MKE is hosting a free axe throwing night to celebrate their move into the NorthSouth Club. Complimentary cake will be provided, and Surfside Iced Tea and Lemonades are $5 each and Lakefront Beers are $4. Axe throwing pros and beginners alike are welcome. Reservations are not mandatory, but are highly recommended.
5. Florence Eiseman Warehouse Sale

6. First Fridays Presents: John Dixon and Linda Nielsen Korducki

Join Organist and Composer John Dixon and local flautists Linda Nielsen Korducki for First Fridays, a free concert series hosted by the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Open to the public, the show’s run-time is one hour and will be followed by light refreshments. All donations collected go toward supporting the artists and the concert series.
7. Spring Moon – Celebration of Mother Earth and Our Labor
FRIDAY FROM 5 P.M. TO 9 P.M. | VILLA TERRACE MUSEUM AND GARDENS
Honor the threshold of summer and International Workers Day with a rebirth of the collective imagination. This community-centered celebration features a sound bath, grounding ceremony and EFT Tapping leading into music and poetry led by members of the community. A “Water and Workers” panel will be held at 7:10 p.m. and will explore “our collective responsibility to land, water and labor in the face of the AI revolution.” An Earth Market with a curated circle of local vendors and fashion inspired by Mother Earth will also be on display. This event is free to attend and suitable for all ages.
8. Furst Furday Kitten Shower
FRIDAY FROM 6 P.M. TO 8 P.M. | ALMOST HOME CAT RESCUE MKE
We’re officially in the height of kitten season and Almost Home Cat Rescue MKE is hosting their annual Kitten Shower. Head to the sanctuary on Ogden Ave to see cats and kittens and donate to a good cause. Supplies and monetary donations will be used to assist bottle-fed babies, spay and neuter services, vaccines and more. The Kitten Shower Wish List is available online. 9. Milwaukee Ballet’s Alice (in wonderland)

It’s opening weekend of Septime Webre’s ALICE (in wonderland) performed by the Milwaukee Ballet. Follow the beloved story of Alice as she falls into a world of larger than life characters. The show is high energy and sometimes a little nonsensical, but it’s all in the name of Wonderland. This performance features students from the Milwaukee Ballet School and Academy alongside the full professional company. Ticket prices vary depending on seat location and can be purchased online.
10. Oak Creek Farmers Market

The Oak Creek Farmers Market is back for the first Saturday of the season! Peruse stands of local grown produce, handmade goods and much more. The market features live music and fun themes throughout the season, so make sure to check out the Facebook page for updates.
11. TOSA Locally Made Spring Pop-Up
SATURDAY FROM 10 A.M. TO 3 P.M. | THE LANDING AT HOYT PARK
It’s officially outdoor spring shopping season in Wauwatosa. Check out 25+ local artists, makers, bakers and boutiques selling handcrafted goods all afternoon. The Beer Garden will be open and serving food and beverages and Cloud 9 Workshop is hosting a free make and take project for children. This event is free to attend and parking is free.
12. Make your Own Crystal Suncatcher – Mother’s Day Workshop

Invite your mom to a relaxing day of crafting with Midwest Shores. This class is beginner-friendly and all materials will be provided. Guests will choose from a variety of crystals, glass prisms and materials to make a suncatcher. Time slot reservations are required and tickets are $48 each.
13. Fiction as a Science Lab

Explore spaceships, wormholes, aliens, superintelligence and time travel during this month’s Coffeeship Astrophysics. Physics graduate students from UW-Milwaukee will read from science fiction as a “shared laboratory” between reality and imagination. Can fiction inspire new science? This lecture is free to attend.
14. Once Upon a Walk: An Audiobook Stroll Through Estabrook
SUNDAY AT 11 A.M. | ESTABROOK BEER GARDEN
This Sunday marks the first audiobook stroll of the season. Join Bay View Books and Beer under the Biergarten sign for one hour of walking and listening. Bring your own headphones, download your book or podcast of choice and dress for the weather. Participants are encouraged to walk at their own pace. The walk will conclude with beer.
15. Trinket Swap and Market

Swap till you drop! Milwaukee’s only trinket swap and market is back by popular demand. Bring trinkets and treasures to trade with fellow collectors, enjoy taste bites from local food trucks and enjoy a full-service bar all afternoon. Admission to this event is free.
15. Schlitz Audubon May Market
SUNDAY FROM 1 P.M. TO 5 P.M. | SCHLITZ AUDUBON NATURE CENTER
Shop 14 local vendors while sipping complimentary wine samples at this May market. Vendors are selling everything from hand crafted jewelry, pottery, paintings and more. Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase as well. The market is free to attend and includes access to the full trail network around the nature center.
