Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) is turning 10 in September and celebrating all month long. It starts with a Happy Place scavenger hunt at 4 p.m. They’ll be hiding cans of Happy Place throughout the patio and taproom. Buy a beer and you get a six-pack holder to fill with all of the cans you find.
For the month of September, Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) is donating portion of sales of Weissconsin to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention during the 988 Save a Weiss fundraiser. They’ll donate $2 from every six-pack to go, $1 from every can opened in the beer hall, and $5 of every Weissconsin t-shirt to the organization.
Friday, Sept. 4
Oktoberfest goes on every weekend for more than a month at Old Heidelberg Park thanks to the Bavarian Bierhaus (700 Lexington Blvd., Glendale). The celebration runs through Oct. 4 and includes plenty of food and live music and scores of communal tables for sharing gemütlichkeit. Admission is $5 on Friday (4 to 11 p.m.), $10 on Saturday (11 a.m. to 11 p.m.), and free on Sunday (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Groups can reserve picnic tables ahead of time.
Another part of Third Space’s ongoing celebration is a weekly brewmaster’s toast. On every Friday in September at 5:45 p.m. they’ll offer $1 pints from the selected keg until it blows.
Try samples from Explorium Brewpub at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 3 to 6 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 5
3 Sheeps Brewing (1837 North Ave., Sheboygan) is adding a unique twist to the whole Oktoberfest thing. Hulktoberfest combines a traditional Oktoberfest celebration with a strongman competition from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. You get to lift pints of beer while Brat City’s Strongest lift kegs and pull trucks.
It’s pumpkin and Oktoberfest beer day at The Tap Yard – Waukesha (1927 E. Sunset Dr.) starting at 1 p.m. They’ll be tapping more than one dozen seasonal beers including a firkin from Lakefront Brewery.
Discount Liquor Milwaukee is offering samples from Sprecher Brewing from noon to 3 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 12: Tune up your bike for Tour de Taps, a leisurely ride along the Oak Leaf and Hank Aaron trails that includes stops at the War Memorial Beer Garden, MobCraft Beer and the Estabrook Park Beer Garden. The fun starts at 11 a.m. and wraps up with a party at Estabrook at 4 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 12: Central Waters Brewing is marking its fifth year in Milwaukee (1037 W. Juneau Ave.) with a block party. The festivities include the release of three special brews.
Thursday, Sept. 17: The popular Flight Night comes to the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center (1111 E. Brown Deer Rd.). Meet a few birds of prey and sip on beers from nine area breweries.
Saturday, Sept. 26: Third Space wraps up its birthday month with a huge 10th anniversary party.
Saturday, Sept. 26: Raised Grain Brewing (1725 Dolphin Dr., Waukesha) has some barrel-aged beers ready to be released at its 11th anniversary party.
Saturday, Oct. 8: Zoo Brew returns to the Milwaukee County Zoo (10005 W. Bluemound Rd.). Plenty of area breweries and food vendors will be there. Tickets start at $60.
