16 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: March 4-9

The Women’s Beer and Spirits Collective has a slew of March events marking Women’s History Month.

Tuesday, March 4

New Barons Brewing Co-op (2018 S. 1st St.) celebrates Fat Tuesday with party that includes the release of Soulard’s Finest, a French pilsner.

Reps from the Women’s Beer and Spirits Collective will be at The Brass Tap (7820 W. Layton Ave.) at 5 p.m. raffling off prizes and pouring their libations.

The weekly release at 1840 Brewing Company is Soft Clothes, an imperial IPA.

Wednesday, March 5

Station No. 06 (6800 W. Becher St.) hosts a Luau for the Ladies at 5 p.m. in conjunction with the Collective. There will be special taps and cocktails as well as a hula hoop contest.

Thursday, March 6

Regano’s Roman Coin (1004 E. Brady St.) is the site of Lakefront Brewery’s Queen Bean release party at 6 p.m. The caramel coffee blonde ale was brewed as part of Pink Boots collaboration day.

Women reps from Young Blood Beer Co. and 3 Sheeps Brewing are headed to Burnhearts (2599 S. Logan Ave.) from 4 to 6 p.m. Until March 14, Burnhearts will donate $1 of every pint sold from the two breweries to the Lotus Legal Fund.

Friday, March 7

Lakefront is canning this year’s Pink Boots release, and those cans of Queen Bean are being released at Lakefront’s Beer Hall (1872 N. Commerce St.) starting at 11 a.m.

Lager Land is a new series of collaborations between New Barons Brewing Co-op and guest brewers. The first release in the series is a collab with Gathering Place Brewing that they’ll be pouring when the doors open at 3 p.m.

The Collective heads to Walker’s Pint (818 S. 2nd St.) for jukebox bingo at 7 p.m. Beer reps from 3 Sheeps and Revolution Brewing will be there and proceeds benefit the Forward Please Project.

Saturday, March 8

The 25th anniversary of Food & Froth is happening at the Milwaukee Public Museum (800 W. Wells St.).

Cafe Centraal (2306 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.) marks International Women’s Day by pouring 10 beers inspired or brewed by women. From 5 to 7 p.m. there will also be guest speakers, a silent auction, music, and more.

BJ’s Crafty Tap (1230 George Towne Dr., Pewaukee) is also celebrating International Women’s Day with beer sampling, raffles and live music from noon to 3 p.m.

Foxtown Brewing (6209 W. Mequon Rd., Mequon) teams with Old World Wisconsin for a “farm to tavern” beer dinner. The five-course menu includes a few Wisconsin favorites and costs $150.

Try samples from Raised Grain Brewing at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from noon to 2 p.m.

Sunday, March 9

Tap Into Milwaukee gives attendees the chance to sample beer, cider, seltzer and food from (mostly) local vendors. It’s happening at Pilot Project (1128 N. 9th St.) from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are $35 (general admission) and $60 (VIP).

Raised Grain Brewing (1725 Dolphin Dr.) hosts its first Pintz and Piecez puzzle competition. Teams of two try to complete a 500-piece puzzle as fast as they can. Entries are limited, so register soon.

Thursday, March 13: It’s Import Night at Kegel’s Inn (5901 W. National Ave.) from 6 to 9 p.m. Sample all sorts of beer styles from more than 30 European breweries for just a $35 ticket.

Saturday, March 15: Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) releases its always delicious Mystic Knot Barrel-Aged Irish-Style Coffee Stout and variants. Preorder now.

Monday, March 17: The annual St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl, hosted by the Explorium Hospitality Group, starts at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $50.

Thursday, June 19: Sure, this seems like a while from now, but the New Glarus beer dinner at Tess is already taking reservations. Call 414-964-8377 to make one, because it’s sure to sell out.
