Wisconsin’s First Tiny IKEA is Coming to Madison This Fall

The IKEA will feature a new, smaller floor plan with fewer showrooms and a limited number of product lines.

Madison’s getting an Ikea this fall, and it’s gonna be soooo cute! The Swedish retailer is associated with daylong excursions to its massive immersive mazes of cheap yet stylish home goods, but it’s rolling out a new, cozier format of 20 stores in smaller U.S. and European markets.

Madison’s entry is in a former Bed, Bath & Beyond (ouch) of 54,000 square feet, compared with the Oak Creek store’s 290,000 and regional O.G. Schaumburg’s 400,000. Thousands of items still will be available for purchase, but product lines will be limited to kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms, and expect fewer of Ikea’s signature showrooms. But the Swedish meatballs? Ja!
