1. Wonderful World of Weddings

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY | WISCONSIN STATE FAIR PARK

Wisconsin’s longest-running bridal show is back for its 58th year, with more than 100 exhibitors inside the Expo Center at the State Fair Park. Tickets include samplings from local restaurants and caterers, choreographed fashion shows, a complimentary “bridal bag” and more.

3. ‘Black Defined 1: Ceramics’

The first iteration of this exhibition series is on display for its final days at Bronzeville Center for the Arts’ Gallery 507. “Black Defined” explores the evolving intersections of identity, artmaking and material culture in relation to Blackness.

ALL WEEKEND | MILWAUKEE IMPROV

You can catch comedian Rene Vaca while he’s in town for five showtimes at the Improv. The San Fernando Valley-raised comic won the 16th annual StandUp NBC competition, alongside Franqi French.

5. Now and Then

ALL WEEKEND | SUNSET PLAYHOUSE

Sit in on an evening with Jamie, Abby and the bar patron who offered them $2,000 for one drink and a conversation. For the first of two weekends, and as part of the After Sunset Studio Series, this show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Get tickets here.

6. Brave You Release Show

THURSDAY AT 6 P.M. | CACTUS CLUB

Brave You, a Milwaukee-based punk group, is back on the scene and ready to perform their new EP HYENAS at a Cactus Club release show on Thursday night. Breakup Tour, Osseo and The Early ‘90s will also take the stage. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 on Thursday. Doors open at 6 p.m.

7. Wine Tasting: Super Tuscans

THURSDAY FROM 6-7:30 P.M. | WATERFORD WINE & SPIRITS

With nine wines-to-be-tasted, this seminar explores the rebellion that was Tuscan winemaking in the late 1960s and ‘70s. You can reserve your spot at this 90-minute event here.

8. The Last Musician of Auschwitz

THURSDAY AT 7 P.M. | HARRY & ROSE SAMSON FAMILY JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER

As part of Violins of Hope: Wisconsin, presented by Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, this film includes interviews with Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, the only surviving member of the women’s orchestra at Auschwitz. This free screening will be followed by a talkback with the Holocaust Education Resource Center.

Sip and spin through Missy Elliott’s catalog at this month’s Coffee After Dark event with Radio Milwaukee. This free listening-club-styled night will have a Missy-inspired drink menu and a vinyl raffle.

10. Milwaukee Admirals vs. Manitoba Moose

11. Nocturnal Neighbors: An Owl Outing with the UEC

FRIDAY FROM 5-7 P.M. | URBAN ECOLOGY CENTER – RIVERSIDE PARK

Join the Urban Ecology Center at Riverside Park on an accessible night hike, and listen for urban owls. The UEC will provide insights from local research and conservation efforts and perform a hands-on owl pellet dissection to piece together prey skeletons. All ages are welcome.
