Third Space (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) has a big day planned to coincide with the release of its amazing Mystic Knot, a barrel-aged Irish coffee stout, at noon. The festivities include live Irish music, coffee and beer pairings and the release of both standard Mystic Knot and this year’s variant, Mystic Pancakes, which adds maple syrup to the delicious mix. New this year, Third Space has opened up a pre-sale of Mystic Knot cans, meaning no waiting in line necessary.

Vennture Brew Co. is releasing its second iteration of Doughnut Don, its imperial stout brewed with vanilla, coffee and a bunch of Hella Cruellers from Cranky Al’s in Wauwatosa. (Joey Carioti of Cranky Al’s is the capo from the name.) This year there are three versions: the “OG” regular, a version with maple, and one that sat in a Maker’s Mark Private Select bourbon barrel. Limited quantities of cans or bottles of all three versions will be available for purchase starting at noon.

Hacienda Beer Co. brewed a collaboration with Chicago’s fantastic Maplewood Brewery and gave it one of the best beer names I’ve seen in a while: Psychedelic Boss Battle. The imperial stout is flavored like rocky road and registers a potent 14% ABV. Pick up your cans at Hacienda (2018 E. North Ave.) starting at 10 a.m.

There are more than a few outstanding Central Waters beers being tapped at The Brass Tap at 11 a.m. The list includes some barrel-aged standouts like Black Gold and Twenty-Two, both imperial stouts.

The Brewery Running Series kickoff party is at The Drunk Uncle (1902 S. 68th St.) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Register for runs, learn about the series and have a beer or two while you’re doing it. It being Saturday at The Drunk Uncle, every IPA tap is just a buck.

Try beers from 3 Sheeps at Discount Liquor Milwaukee from 1 to 3 p.m.

Sprecher will be handing out samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from noon to 3 p.m.

Sunday, March 8

Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) has a beer dinner scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. to benefit Rebecca Clounie, a single mother undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. Cost is $50 in advance and $65 at the door for the five-course dinner.

The Riverwest Brewing Syndicate hosts the annual Pink Boots Society Collaboration Brew Day at Black Husky. Brewing starts at 8 a.m. but the day is filled with festivities like live music and food trucks.
