14 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: March 19-24

A few more beer-related Women’s Month events are happening this week. And there’s a big release from Gathering Place too.

Tuesday, March 19

Walker’s Pint (818 S. 2nd St.) hosts a Women’s Month fundraiser at 7 p.m. There will be beer sampling, karaoke, and $1 from drinks purchased from participating brands benefits Sojourner Family Peace Center.

Wednesday, March 20

Dave Engbers, the co-founder of Founders Brewing Company, will be at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) at 4 p.m. The taps will be pouring six Founders beers.

Barley’s Angels members should head to Third Space (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) for a special Beer School. The March meeting of the group features a tutelage from Third Space brewmaster Kevin Wright.

1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) is releasing Convince the Cat of That, a farmhouse ale, and Haus Weisse, a Berliner weisse made with blueberry and peach.

Friday, March 22

Pair three beers with three pierogi at 1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.). The cost is just $24.

Company Brewing (735 E. Center St.) hosts Baby Goat Yoga at 5 p.m. Cost is $49.

Try samples of Chouffe Belgian ales at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 2 to 5 p.m.

Indeed Brewing is offering samples from 3 to 5 p.m. at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.).

Saturday, March 23

Head to Holey Mackerel (5401 W. Layton Ave.) at 6 p.m. for Play Like a Girl, a Women’s Month event. There will be raffles, arcade game competitions and beer from a few breweries represented by the Women’s Beer and Spirits Collective. A portion of the proceeds go to Sojourner Family Peace Center.

Gathering Place Brewing is releasing three barrel-aged variants with the Divergent Paths Imperial Stouts series. Choose from the stout aged in Maker’s Mark Private Select, Buffalo Trace Single Barrel Select or Central Standard Cabin Strength barrels. The release begins at noon at both taprooms (811 E. Vienna Ave. and 7208 W. North Ave.).

Yoga on Tap is happening at Lion’s Tail Brewing (7635 W. North Ave.) at 11 a.m. Cost is $20 for the 45-minute session and a beverage when you’re done.

The weekly beer release at Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 W. North Ave.) is Floating On A Cloud, a New England IPA.

Sunday, March 24

Women’s Month Fest is happening at Elwood’s Liquor & Tap (1111 N. Water St.) from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be a makers market, food and music. And $1 from every beer sold benefits Sojourner Family Peace Center.

Lakefront Brewery (1872 N. Commerce St.) hosts a makers market, featuring more than 20 vendors, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.


Coming Soon

March 27: Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) hosts another Beer School. This time, bocks are the main course of study. Tickets are $30 and generally sell out.

March 27-28: Tess Restaurant (2499 N. Bartlett Ave.) has a pair of beer dinners with More Brewing coming up. Call 414-964-8377 to reserve a spot.

March 30: The sixth annual MobCraft Sour Fest is happening at the MobCraft taproom (1505 S. 5th St.). Tickets are limited.

March 30: Component Brewing (2018 S. 1st St.) celebrates its second anniversary in its larger location in the Lincoln Warehouse.

April 13: The annual release of Doughnut Don, Vennture Brew Co.’s imperial stout, happens at noon.

April 20: Eagle Park Brewing (S64 W15640 Commerce Center Pkwy., Muskego) has its popular Joint Beer Fest coming up. Get tickets early, because the annual beer fest draws a crowd.
