Klub Kombat returns to New Barons Brewing Co-op (2018 S. 2nd St.) at 6 p.m. Sample some homebrewing takes on a California Common and provide your feedback. Recipes will be honed and eventually one chosen for a beer release.
Wednesday, April 26
Barrier Brewing is bringing a few of its beers to Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) from 4 to 10 p.m. As an added bonus, Sweet Smoke BBQ will be there too.
Friday, April 28
Rage Against the Bean is a coffee IPA that 1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) made in collaboration with 1848 Coffee. Preorder begins on Friday at noon, and pick up is all weekend.
Gathering Place Brewing’s Small Batch Friday beer is a Rustic French Ale. It’s available at both the Riverwest (811 E. Vienna St.) and Wauwatosa (7208 W. North Ave.) taprooms.
Try samples from Indeed Brewing and Heineken at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 3 to 6 p.m.
Saturday, April 29
Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) is releasing a pair of new barrel-aged beers. That Escalated Quickly is a barrel-aged barleywine and Wisconsinator is a brandy barrel-aged doppelbock. Presale is available now.
Radix Fermentation is taking a trip to 1840 Brewing. They’ll be talking about what they do and they’ll be pouring a few beers.
The Riverwest Pub Crawl is taking place from noon to 7 p.m. Pick up a $10 wristband at Amorphic Beer, Gathering Place, Black Husky Brewing or Company Brewing and get drink specials at a number of Riverwest bars. Proceeds benefit the Kinship Community Food Center.
The Landing at Hoyt Park (1800 N. Swan Blvd.) hosts the Spring Beer Fest from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be nearly 50 different beers from several, mostly local, breweries. The cost is just $35 in advance.
The patio is opening at Gathering Place’s Wauwatosa location from noon to 1o p.m. There will be live music, food from 4 to 8 p.m., and plenty of good beer.
Try Sweetwater 420 samples at Discount Liquor Milwaukee from noon to 3 p.m.
SteelTank Brewing is handing out samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from noon to 2 p.m.
Sunday, April 30
The Walker’s Point Makers Market and Bar Hop is happening from noon to 5 p.m. Vendors will be at Indeed Brewing (530 S. 2nd St.), Broken Bat Brewing (135 E. Pittsburgh Ave.), MobCraft Beer (505 S. 5th St.), The Laughing Tap (706 S. 5th St.), Anodyne Coffee (224 W. Bruce St.), and Great Lakes Distillery (616 W. Virginia St.).
1848 Coffee celebrates its five-year anniversary at the 1840 Brewing taproom, which means good things. The first 50 people through the door get a free coffee, a free pour of Rage Against the Bean IPA, and a doughnut. The taproom is opening at 10 a.m. for the special occasion.
