12 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Sept. 18-21

Along with a lot of seasonal and Oktoberfest parties, this weekend’s signature event is Raised Grain’s two-day 10th anniversary bash.

Thursday, Sept. 18

There’s an autumn wreath workshop happening at Lion’s Tail Brewing (8520 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $60 for materials, instruction and a beverage while you work.

Friday, Sept. 19

Raised Grain Brewing kicks off a two-day 10th anniversary celebration that includes some amazing beer releases. The pre-party on Friday includes the release of Haze Before the Storm, a triple IPA.

The Bavarian Bierhaus (700 W. Lexington Blvd.) hosts the third of five weekend Oktoberfest celebrations. Hours are 4 to 11 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

The seventh annual Riverwest Food Truck Rally is happening at Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.). The block party features a few new beer releases and nearly one dozen food truck options.

Try samples of non-alcoholic beer from Mash Gang at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 3 to 5 p.m.

3 Sheeps Brewing is offering samples from 3 to 5 p.m. at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.).

Saturday, Sept. 20

The second day of Raised Grain’s 10th anniversary party starts at 10:30 a.m. with bloodies and breakfast. The day also includes a pig roast, live music, stein holding, and the release of a pair of barrel-aged imperial stouts: X and Zeus Brewmaster Select, employing a single Heaven Hill Double Fill barrel.

The Wisconsin Brewery Running Series makes a stop at Kenosha Brewing (4017 80th St., Kenosha). The casual 5K run starts at 11 a.m. and it costs just $44 to participate.

The Oktoberfest patio party at Perspective Brewing (7508 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis) runs from 4 to 10 p.m. They’ll be pouring a märzen Oktoberfest all day and releasing a new festbier at 3 p.m.

It’s OK Toberfest at Vennture Brew Co. (5519 W. North Ave.) from 3 to 8 p.m., a riff on the name of the brewery’s not-bad-at-all märzen. There will be brats and beer, of course. (The Brookfield location’s turn is next weekend.) 

Lakefront Brewery and Foxtown Brewing are both pouring their beers at the Cedarburg Wine & Harvest Festival, which takes place in downtown Cedarburg. Hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 21

Outdoor yoga is on the morning schedule at Explorium Brewpub Wauwatosa (11200 W. Burleigh St.). Cost is $15 and includes a deal on your first beverage.

Thursday, Sept. 25: The Yelp Beer Hunt comes to the Brewhouse Inn and Suites (1215 N. 10th St.). The evening includes a scavenger hunt involving several local breweries and a party at OnTap Bar and Restaurant. The event is free but an RSVP is required.

Saturday, Sept. 27: Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) celebrates its ninth anniversary with a party. Also, Czechtoberfest, featuring three Czech-inspired beers and food from the nation, is taking place at Amorphic Beer (3700 N. Fratney St.).

Thursday, Oct. 2: Tour the Milwaukee County Zoo (10001 W. Bluemound Ave.) with a beer in your hand during Zoo Brew.

Friday, Oct. 3: Milwaukee Oktoberfest begins at the Henry Maier Festival Park (200 N. Harbor Dr.). It runs through Sunday.

Saturday, Oct. 4: Layman Brewing (6001 W. Madison St.) is hosting a traditional fish boil and releasing a seasonal beer, Tequila Gordita Smoked Pumpkin. Tickets are $25 in advance.
