12 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee this Week: March 26-30

This week it’s a “Simpsons” pop-up at 1840 Brewing, birthdays at Component and Urban Harvest, and more.

Wednesday, March 26

Eagle Park Brewing (S64 W15640 Commerce Center Pkwy., Muskego) is pairing four Girl Scout cookies with four beers at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25.

Thursday, March 27

The Springfield Connection, a four-day “Simpsons” pop-up, begins at 1840 Brewing Co. (342 E. Ward St.) with themed trivia from 7-9 p.m. The themed events, culminating with a chili cookoff on Sunday. The “Fudd,” a riff on the Simpsons universe’s Duff beer, will be flowing all weekend. 

Perspective Brewing (7508 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis) is throwing a Spring Break Party, which means $5 pours for educators all day, starting at their 3 p.m. opening. Singer-songwriter Julien Kozek performs live music from 6 to 8 p.m.

Friday, March 28

Try beers from the excellent Working Draft Brewing from 4 to 6 p.m. at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.).

Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) has samples of Leinenkugel’s Barrelman Ale, a former Brewers stadium exclusive now in wide release, from 3 to 5 p.m.

Saturday, March 29

Downtown Racine is the site of Soups and Steins from 1 to 6 p.m. There will be 20 soups and 20 beers to sample throughout downtown. Tickets are just $40.

The first Brewery Running Series 5K of the season is at Vennture Brew Co. (5519 W. North Ave.) at 11 a.m. Registration starts at $35.

Component Brewing (2018 S. First St.) is hosting a birthday party to celebrate the third anniversary in its ground-floor Lincoln Warehouse space. The festivities include the release of batch No. 2 of The Full Nelson, a hazy IPA.

Raised Grain Brewing (1725 Dolphin Dr., Waukesha) celebrates the start of the baseball season with Roll Out the Barrel. They’ll have the Brewers/Yankees game on to go with barrel-aged beers, Lonesome Citra IPA pours and tailgate food.

Discount Liquor Milwaukee is pouring samples from Revolution Brewing from noon to 3 p.m.

Sunday, March 30

Women’s Month Revelry at Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.) wraps up March festivities put on by the Women’s Beer and Spirits Collective. Doors are at noon and a drag show begins at 1 p.m. The afterparty starts at 4 p.m.

The chili cookoff at Moe’s Tavern, ahem, 1840 Brewing runs from noon to 3 p.m. It marks the end of The Springfield Connection.

Saturday, April 5: Urban Harvest Brewing (1024 S. Fifth St.) puts on its 9th Anniversary CeleBrewtion from 1 to 8 p.m. They’ll be releasing PriBock Maibock and Hopsitively Hazy IPA.

Thursday, April 10: The next meeting of the Explorium Library Society is happening at the Third Ward location (143 W. St. Paul Ave.) from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 12: Vennture Brew Co. East (5519 W. North Ave.) hosts its annual Doughnut Don stout release beginning at noon.

Saturday, April 19: Joint Beer Fest returns to Eagle Park Brewing (S64 W15640 Commerce Center Pkwy., Muskego). It’s a day filled with great breweries and great beer.

Thursday, June 19: Sure, this seems like a while from now, but the New Glarus beer dinner at Tess is already taking reservations. Call 414-964-8377 to make one, because it’s sure to sell out.
