MEET MORE OF OUR 2026 WOMEN OF DISTINCTION

After 14 years working in the corporate dental world, Dr. Jessica Grams bet on herself and purchased a practice in 2025. “It was a leap of faith and it’s been an amazing experience ever since,” she says.

Grams practice offers both general and cosmetic dentistry. The space allows her to dedicate time to personalized care for each patient. That patient-driven approach is at the heart of her work, Grams says, which is inspired by a desire to ensure everyone receives the highest-quality, compassionate care they need.

“Your dental health is about a lot more than just teeth,” Grams says. “A beautiful smile changes the way someone carries themselves, how they present themselves to the world.”

“I love to see patients’ confidence grow.”

Q&A

What do you think makes going to the dentist difficult for so many people?

Embarrassment is a huge one. Financials, I find, is another. So many people think, ‘I can’t go to the dentist,’ or ‘I won’t because I had dental insurance and now I don’t have it.’ I don’t think people value their teeth when something is not hurting. So that’s another big one. If it’s not hurting, there’s no problem. A lot of chronic problems are slow, silent. They’re not painful for some time, and then they are.

What other aspects of your career do you enjoy and would you recommend it to others?

I think it’s wonderful. I think it’s a great career to get into in the medical field. You have a lot of flexibility in your hours. A lot of what we do is elective. We are around for emergency things that pop up, but there’s not a ton of true dental emergencies. You have a really great work-life balance. Being a small business owner definitely has its challenges. My time right now is more focused on the practice, but it’s because I am a year in and I’m still making a lot of changes within the office. But it’s wonderful.
