With Milwaukee facing a cold weather advisory this weekend, here are six city warming centers where people can find shelter overnight. All are operated by the Milwaukee Coalition on Housing and Homelessness. “Please know help is available,” the coalition wrote in a Facebook post. “If you or someone you know needs a warm place to stay, visit one of our Milwaukee Winter Warming Locations.”

- Joy House (women and families), 818 N. 19th St.; call 414-344-3774 before arrival

This weekend, an arctic air mass will bring frigid conditions to Southeastern Wisconsin, with temperatures dipping below zero and wind chills predicted to reach between -15 and -30 degrees.
Many libraries, community centers and churches across Milwaukee offer temporary warming shelters during the day. To find daytime shelters or more information, you can call 211 or visit 211’s website.
The City of Milwaukee website also includes cold weather safety information here.
