Spring has officially sprung at Richardson Adventure Farm‘s first-ever Tulip Festival (909 English Prairie Rd, Spring Grove, Illinois). The lakefront flower festival is about an hour’s drive from Milwaukee and boasts 300,000 bulbs of 30 varieties of tulips.
The festival provides plenty of opportunities for picturesque scenery as visitors can tiptoe through five acres of multicolored tulips as well as trot along a trail by the farm’s private 36-acre lake. Along with that, the Tulip Festival features pick-your-own tulip fields where visitors can build their own bouquet from 70,000 mixed colors of bulbs.
And there’s more blooming at this event than just its tulips. The festival will have food trucks serving spirits and snacks, free yard games, including giant checkers, Jenga and cornhole and live music on weekend afternoons, making it a memorable experience for families and “buds” of all ages.
Tickets can be purchased in-person or ahead of time online and are $15 per person on Saturdays and Sundays and $12 during the week. Parking is free, you can even bring Fido to smell the flowers as long as your dog’s friendly and on a leash.
The festival only runs for two weeks, so plan your trip sometime between now and May 9.
