Third Ward’s Five Hearts Boutique to Close

The store has been a happening place for women’s clothing and accessories since 2010.

Kelly and Mary Jo Mansell have operated Five Hearts boutique in the Third Ward since the fall of 2010, but today they announced they will be closing the store. The boutique sells trendy women’s apparel and accessories that have been featured in this magazine (including in the photo above) on more than one occasion. In an email today, they announced that they’re closing so that Kelly, daughter of Mary Jo, can focus on her growing family.

While no closing date was announced, the email also mentioned “amazing sales” before they close for good, so stay tuned for more information.

Claire Hanan worked at the magazine as an editor from 2012-2017. She edited the Culture section and wrote stories about all sorts of topics, including the arts, fashion, politics and more. In 2016, she was a finalist for best profile writing at the City and Regional Magazine Awards for her story "In A Flash." In 2014, she won the the Milwaukee Press gold award for best public service story for editing "Handle With Care," a service package about aging in Milwaukee. Before all this, she attended the University of Missouri's School of Journalism and New York University's Summer Publishing Institute.
