1. Pet Expo MKE

SATURDAY FROM 10 A.M. TO 5 P.M. | WISCONSIN STATE FAIR PARK

It’s time for Wisconsin’s largest charitable pet expo! The exposition is hosted by the Alliance of Wisconsin Animal Rehoming Efforts (AWARE) and the production team is completely volunteer run. All of the money raised through ticket sales are donated back to rescues, shelters and sanctuaries dedicated to helping animals in need. Meet adoptable pets, shop for treats, check out the live entertainment and more. Personal pets are not allowed due to the large crowd. General admission is $12 ($6 after 3 p.m.) for ages 13 to 64, $8 for 65+ and students, and free for children 12 and under.

2. Snail Mail Stationery Market

SATURDAY FROM 10 A.M. TO 2 P.M. | ANODYNE COFFEE ROASTING CO.

2026 is the year of returning to analog, so it’s the perfect time to get into sending your loved ones letters in the mail. The Snail Mail Stationery Market is organized by local artist Chandler Hougan and includes local artists and vendors from a variety of backgrounds. Grab a coffee and check out the selection of artisan stationery goods!

3. Galentine’s Drag Queen Book Bingo

SATURDAY FROM 7 P.M. TO 10:30 P.M. | SOUTH SECOND

MKE Books & Beers is hosting a Galentine’s Drag Queen book-themed bingo night this Saturday. Dinner is served by Saz’s Hospitality and a cash bar will be serving drinks during the event. There are three rounds of book bingo with three romance book prizes up for grabs. The dress code is pink and reds, so dress your best and bring some friends out for the Galentine’s vibe.

4. The Lehman Trilogy

ALL WEEKEND AT VARIOUS TIMES | MILWAUKEE REPERTORY THEATER

The Lehman Trilogy is a five-time Tony Award winning play following a young German man and his two brothers beginning their life in America in 1844. Over the next 163 years, the Lehman legacy storefront has become an investment superpower until a major economic crash pushes the business toward destruction. The show features over 50 characters played by just three different actors. This show is recommended for ages 16 and up and the run time is three hours and 30 minutes with two intermissions. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the Repertory Theater ticket office at (414) 224-9490.

5. Weaving Our Pride

THURSDAY FROM 2 P.M. TO 4 P.M. | MERRILL HALL

UW-Milwaukee is hosting Oneida Basket Artist Julie Clark who will lead a natural reed weaving class for Pride Week. Participants can choose from a variety of different colors to represent their identity. During the workshop, Clark will lead a conversation about how personal stories, experiences and identities interlace to create a shared tapestry of pride. No experience is needed and guests can drop in anytime between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. This class is free to attend.

6. Land Matters: Sites of Technology and Ecological Restoration

THURSDAY FROM 6 P.M. TO 8 P.M. | HAGGERTY MUSEUM OF ART

This guided conversation is inspired by the Haggerty Museum of Art’s new exhibition titled The Side of the Stars. The themes of the conversations are technology, place and human impact and will be led by co-curators Jennifer Johung and Kirk Nickel, artist Jason S. Yi and Indigenous scholar Mark Freeland. This event is free and open to the public.  

7. Baking with Honeypie Bakeshop – Butter Crust and Apple Pies

THURSDAY FROM 6 P.M. TO 9 P.M. | PALOMINO BAR

Ryan Rademacher, lead baker at Honeypie Bakeshop, is leading a hands-on class on pie essentials. Students will learn how to make Honeypie’s famous Apple Crumb pie with an emphasis on mastering the perfect flakey crust. Everyone will make their own 9 inch pie including the crust and the apple pie filling. While the pies are in the oven, Rademacher will answer any pie-related questions. The class is about two and a half hours and tickets include all of the ingredients, supplies, a printed menu and a drink ticket. Tickets are available online for $98 each.

8.  Zocalo Singles Mixer

THURSDAY FROM 6:30 P.M. TO 10 P.M. | ZOCALO FOOD PARK

Cuffing season might be coming to an end, but there’s still plenty of time to find that special someone. Zocalo Food Park is hosting a singles mixer for anyone looking to mingle – no pressure and good vibes only. Participants must be 21+ and purchase a ticket online ahead of time. Tickets are $17.85 each and include one free drink.

9. Death Cafe

FRIDAY FROM 4 P.M. TO 6 P.M. | HORIZON HOME CARE & HOSPICE

The Greater Milwaukee Death Doulas are hosting a Death Cafe this Friday and it’s not as scary as it sounds, promise. Death Cafes are not-for-profit meetings meant to normalize discussion about death and dying in a safe environment. The concept was invented by a Swiss sociologist named Bernard Crettaz and then popularized by Jon Underwood in London in 2011. Death Cafes have quickly spread across 97 countries since. There’s no agenda for Friday’s meeting and the conversation will be facilitated by Martha Badger and Gil-Marie Janssen. Snacks will be provided.

10. Boutique Blowout

SATURDAY FROM 9 A.M. TO 2 P.M. | ATWATER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

A collective of some of Milwaukee’s funkiest boutique and second-hand stores are coming together for a huge blowout sale. A $5 admission fee will be collected to benefit Round Up for Recreation. The goods on display range from pre-owned clothing, luxury items, home goods and more.

10. Valentine’s Day Hands-on French Macaron Class

FRIDAY FROM 6 P.M. TO 7:30 P.M. | MEQUON PUBLIC MARKET

Pastry Chef Catrine Roen is teaching participants how to make the perfect French macarons just in time for Valentines Day. The class will take students through the entire process start to finish and everyone will get to bring some home. This class is fit for every level of baker, even though macarons are arguably one of the hardest desserts to master. The class will take about an hour and a half and tickets are $80 each online.

11. Celebration of Black Innovators in Science

SATURDAY FROM 9 A.M. TO 4 P.M. | DISCOVERY WORLD

Discovery World is kicking off Black History Month with a celebration of Black innovators. Exhibitors including Club SciKidz, the American Black Holocaust Museum and many others, will be at the museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Black Owned Business Makers Market will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibits highlight the many incredible innovations to science, technology, engineering and math Black scientists have made throughout our history. Tickets can be bought online in advance or at the door on the day of.

12. Women & Girls in Science

SATURDAY FROM 11 A.M. TO 2 P.M. | KING COMMUNITY CENTER

Staff at the Wehr Nature Center are breaking down barriers by showing girls they can love science, too. The Women & Girls in Science event is open-house style and showcases female STEAM pioneers through hands-on activities. All of the activities are led by local women. This event is free and recommended for children ages 10 and up. Advanced registration is required and can be done online.

This Galentine’s market is focused on supporting women-owned creators in the Milwaukee area. This market is the perfect place to find a heart-felt gift for the special women in your life.

14. Ladies of Hip Hop

SATURDAY FROM 9 P.M. TO 2 A.M. | MAD PLANET

Celebrate girls night out with the most iconic ladies of Hip Hop. This Mad Planet dance party features music from Salt-N-Pepa, Megan Thee Stallion and more. The music is curated by DJ Milkman and doors open at 9 p.m. There is a $7 cash cover charge at the door and this event is 21+ only.

15. Sprecher Snow Day Market

Phil saw his shadow and cursed us to six more weeks of winter, but that’s okay! Shake off the winter blues at Sprecher Brewery where local creators are selling their wares this Sunday. Besides unique crafts, the brewery will have sodas and beer on tap. This event is free to attend and open to all ages.
