March Is a Busy Month for the Women’s Beer and Spirits Collective

March is Women’s History Month, which means another year of fundraising and events thanks to the Women’s Beer and Spirits Collective.

The Women’s Beer and Spirits Collective is back for another celebration of Women’s History Month in March. The group has put together a packed schedule of events that will raise money for several charities that benefit women.

The collective debuted in 2022 with a smattering of beer-related events put together by women representing five breweries. The group has grown to 14 women who represent several brands of beer, cider and spirits. Brands participating in 2025 are 3 Floyds Brewing, WarPigs Brewing, 3 Sheeps Brewing, Bell’s Brewery, New Belgium Brewing, Guinness, Earth Rider Brewery, Founders Brewing, Avery Brewing, Revolution Brewing, Surly Brewing, Young Blood Beer Co., Saturday Beer Company, Schilling Cider, Tullamore D.E.W., Deep Eddy, Brown-Forman Distilleries and Green House Spirits.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

In 2024, the group raised nearly $20,000 for Sojourner Peace Center through the generosity of both bars and patrons who attended dozens of gatherings last March.

“It’s great to see our continued growth and support from the community,” said co-founder Julianna Pierandozzi, a sales representative for 3 Sheeps Brewing. “I definitely did not anticipate our year-over-year growth monetarily as well as the positive responses from everyone. Raising $20,000 was so crazy last year. People really showed up and donated separately as well as through the events. We can only hope we raise at least that much this year. This year we are spreading out our fundraising to several charities instead of just one. There are so many charities that benefit many areas for women in the state.”

Scores of events are scheduled for the month, and the fun begins at 6 p.m. Feb. 28 at Izzy Hops Swig & Nosh (1930 E. North Ave.). The kickoff party will feature specialty cocktails and beer and cider from members of the collective as well as raffle prizes and a 50/50 raffle.

3 Sheeps is also participating in Women’s History Month with the release of beers specifically for March. Lady Lupulin Pale Ale, which was created by 3 Sheeps’ Kate Thomma, will be available at the 3 Sheeps taproom (1837 North Ave., Sheboygan), Milwaukee’s Triple Taproom (2018 E. North Ave.), and at a few other participating locations. Pink Shoelaces fruited sour, a second beer commemorating the month, will be available exclusively at the 3 Sheeps taproom in mid-March.
