Our long winter without crazy-cheap beer and wrestling on TV is finally over.
Rally your drinking buddies and set your Lyft sights on West Allis because The Drunk Uncle is back in business, and it’s doing patently Drunk Uncle things this weekend.
The Stallis dive bar at 1902 S. 68th St., known for borderline insane beer prices and pro wrestling fandom, closed in September for remodeling, a project that finally came to a conclusion this week.
To celebrate, owner Neal Steffek is offering every beer on the Uncle’s now 48 tap lines for $3 — offerings that include tough-to-find beers like Bell’s Barrel Aged Expedition Stout, New Glarus Wild Sour Ale, Potosi Inner Sanctum and Funk Factory Cherry Meerts. Bottles and cans of more straightforward domestic offerings are $1. And the Uncle’s usual Saturday special is in place today, too, with every IPA $1. The first 100 people through the door after the Uncle’s 2 p.m. opening will get a free Spotted Cow.
A soft opening Friday night packed the place, though there was more elbow room all around and big new TVs visible from every vantage point. Another big screen at one end of the bar displayed the gonzo tap list.
