Pride Fest Kicks Off Milwaukee Festival Season

Last year, more than 40,000 people attended Milwaukee’s PrideFest.

Each year, PrideFest is the party that really kicks off festival season. “It feels like a family reunion,” says Milwaukee Pride Inc. president and CEO Wes Shaver. Cream City’s biggest LGBTQ celebration runs June 6-8 at Henry Maier Festival Park, with a lineup that includes musical headliner Icona Pop and drag stars Violet Chachki and Alaska.

But it’s the local performers that steal the spotlight – Shaver says Milwaukee representation across the fest’s five stages has jumped 40% compared to last year. “[Our team] makes everyone feel that they’re a part of the weekend.”
