It’s happening. Pizza Man has returned to its location on Downer Avenue (2597 N.) – the location it occupied from 2013-2023.
All the visible signs have been there — Pizza Man signage returned to its rightful spot, Mini Cooper (with the Pizza Man logo on the side) parked in various spots on Belleview and Downer. The place has been under reconstruction – those uncomfortable booths are gone, replaced by tables.
The owners just aren’t talking. At least not to me. I’ve made several attempts to make contact in the last few months.
But seeing is believing. I just saw a delivery guy pushing a dolly stacked with boxes of jarred foods up the restaurant’s entry ramp. And a sign is taped to one of the windows, announcing the opening as Sept. 27. (The message on the Milwaukee location’s voicemail still says it’s located on Humboldt.) The PM Facebook page has also teased the return.
Pizza Man moved from Downer to Humboldt Avenue in winter of 2023. They took over the former Stubby’s Gastropub. In April 2024, that location closed, leaving only the Wauwatosa restaurant (11500 W. Burleigh St.) still operating.
Hours, as of right now, are: Tues-Thurs 3-10 p.m.; Fri 3-11 p.m.; Sat 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; Sun 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
