This Traveling Farm Dinner Is Making a Stop in Wisconsin

On July 24, Milwaukee chef Kyle Knall will cook a four-course meal for guests to enjoy outside.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

A farm dinner is a cogent reminder – that dining so close to the source of your food Is a gift, that each summer day is precious, that it’s not a given that farms as we know them will always exist. The photo you’re seeing is from Outstanding in the Field, a roving restaurant that travels across the country and stops in Ridgeway, Wis., for a four-course meal (cooked by Milwaukee chef Kyle Knall) on July 24 at Meadowlark Farm & Mill. Meals like that one sell out quickly, but there may still be time for others – farm dinners tend to happen mid-summer or later, when the harvest is plentiful. Four more dinners to check out: Braise at Park Ridge Organics in Fond du Lac on July 13; Creamery Creek Farms near La Crosse on Aug. 10; Fondy Farm Feast at Mequon Nature Preserve on Aug. 18; and Rooted In Red in Wisconsin Rapids on Sept. 28.
