Morning Links for Wednesday, August 10

Paul Ryan denies Paul Nehlen and his dumptruck, Lena Taylor and John Chisholm cruise, Prince Fielder retires and Southwest goes daily to San Diego.

A dumptruck denied: Donald Trump, Sarah Palin and Ann Coulter combined to elevate Paul Nehlen, Paul Ryan’s primary opponent, into double-digits in Tuesday’s election. Problem is, his 16% paled a bit next to Ryan’s 84%, filling his dumptruck with humble pies.

Establishment intact: In other primary elections, voters’ alleged fury with incumbents took a night off, as Democratic state Sen. Lena Taylor and Milwaukee County DA John Chisholm breezed to reelection against determined opponents.

Prince sendoff: Beloved ex-Brewer Prince Fielder is retiring due to some health issues. ESPN did a video mashup of career highlights, including an unforgettable home plate celebration at Miller Park.

San Diego in February?: Southwest Airlines is now promising to send a planeload of Milwaukeeans to San Diego every day year-round.
