Beer legislation and something called a “weedery.”

The news you can use:

  • U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin is proposing legislation that would decrease excise taxes for craft brewers.
  • You’ve heard of brewery and winery tours, but you likely haven’t heard of a “weedery.” One Colorado man is trying to change that by opening a “weedery” that will have a restaurant and performing arts space in addition to greenhouses.
  • A new local art exhibit looks at the intersection of the civil rights movement and baseball.
  • Google is restructuring and creating a parent company called Alphabet of which the current iteration of the company will become one of many subsidiaries.
  • The Milwaukee Film Fest, which opens next month, announced its latest round of cinematic offerings.
