More on Sherman Park disturbances, strip club owner indictment, and Gwen’s gold

Here’s what we’re reading Monday:

As a follow-up to the civil disturbances here last weekend, the New York Times had a compelling take on segregation in Milwaukee on its front page Sunday.

Veteran Milwaukee columnist Eugene Kane offers his perspective on the disturbances, in an essay for Milwaukee Magazine we posted late Friday.

And a Times staffer who grew up here gives his view.

Jon Ferraro, owner of Silk Exotic strip clubs in Milwaukee, Juneau and Middleton, has been indicted in a federal racketeering investigation targeting the Russian mafia, the Journal Sentinel reports.

Waukesha native Gwen Jorgensen, a 2015 Reason to Love Milwaukee, won triathlon gold at the Olympics in Rio over the weekend – fulfilling a goal she’d been pursuing with single-minded focus for four years.

Speaking of sports, the Brewers mounted an astonishing four-run ninth-inning rally in Seattle on Sunday, coming from behind to defeat the Mariners, 7-6, and ending a six-game losing streak.
