Milwaukee Magazine Nominated for Three CRMA Awards

The magazine is nominated in the “Profile” and “Cover Excellence” categories in the City and Regional Magazine Association’s annual awards.

The City and Regional Magazine Association (CRMA) and the Missouri School of Journalism have nominated Milwaukee Magazine for three awards in its annual competition.

In the “Profile (Circulation less than 60,000)” category, two Milwaukee Magazine feature stories are finalists — Howie Magner’s “The Long Walk Home” and Claire Hanan’s “In a Flash.”

The magazine is also a finalist in the “Cover Excellence” category for covers in March, June and October.

Here is more information on the 2016 awards from CRMA:

Magazine professionals from around the country chose 170 finalists representing 31 publications in the 31-year-old City and Regional Magazine Association’s national awards competition. Magazines of varying circulations competed in 34 categories, including editorial, design, online, multiplatform storytelling and general excellence. Judges named five finalists in each category and will soon choose one ultimate winner in each. The winners for work completed in 2015 will be announced at the CRMA’s 40th Annual Conference to take place May 21-23, 2016 at the Grand Hyatt Denver in Denver, Colorado.

The competition is open to members of CRMA and other city and regional magazines throughout North America that qualify. The national competition has been in existence for 31 years and has been coordinated by the University of Missouri School of Journalism on behalf of CRMA for the past 20 years.
