Milwaukee Film Will Show Sports Films Ahead of the Olympics

The “Olympic Training Camp” series runs through July 26.

Milwaukee Film will show nine sports films at the Oriental Theatre starting Friday to prepare audiences for the 2024 Summer Olympics, which begin July 26 in Paris.

Audiences are invited to practice watching athletes compete in sporting events with what Milwaukee Film has dubbed its “Olympic Training Camp” series.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

“Movie nerds and sports super fans may not seem like they have much in common, but even the most academic cinephile can acknowledge that sports films really cater to a gripping drama,” Milwaukee Film Programming Director Kerstin Larson said. “I’ve never hit, kicked, or caught a ball in my life, and I can’t wait to cheer for the champions and underdogs in these stone-cold classics. And by the end of the series, we’ll all be warmed up to cheer for the real athletes for the 2024 Paris Olympics.”
