Every year, April 14 – or “414 Day” – serves as a reminder to Milwaukeeans why this city is so great. We get city-wide events celebrating the occasion, and local artists often release new music.
Singer songwriter Grace Weber, whose musical career has carried her from Wauwatosa to Los Angeles – landing features with big names like Chance the Rapper – hasn’t forgotten about the city that helped make her dreams a reality. Her new single, “414,” is out today, and is supported with a guest spot from Milwaukee rapper Mudy.
“ … the song is all about my hometown of Milwaukee, growing up in the ‘414,’ and sharing my love for the city,” Weber stated in a press release.

The track sees Weber doing what she does best – a smooth r&b delivery over a beat that would feel right at home on Chance the Rapper’s Coloring Book – accented with a soaring brass section. Weber reminisces about singing songs on the North Side and making memories in Bay View, showing plenty of hometown love with references to Milwaukee.
The track is broken up perfectly with a few bars from Mudy, whose line, “They don’t know about them East Side vibes/Staying cooler by the lake,” will likely stick with Milwaukeeans for a long time.
“414” is available for streaming on Spotify, where it is complimented by a Canvas featuring Weber and Mudy hanging out in the stands at the Fiserv Forum.
Whether or not you’re a fan of Weber’s new track, I think we can all agree with her during the song’s hook: “Love this city, who can blame us? 414, you have my heart.”
