Kiss Is Coming to Wisconsin to Celebrate Potawatomi’s New Restaurant

Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of the band will open Rock & Brews restaurant in the hotel and casino.

Legendary rock band Kiss will bring its “End of the Road Tour”to Crandon International Raceway in Wisconsin’s Northwoods on Sept. 1 through the efforts of the Forest County Potawatomi Tribe and its casinos.

The Tribe helped secure the concert, which will celebrate the upcoming opening of Gene Simmons’ and Paul Stanley’s newest Rock & Brews restaurant inside Potawatomi Casino Hotel in Milwaukee as part of a $100 million renovation that is scheduled to be completed later this year.

Rock & Brews will be located just off the skywalk at the Menomonee Valley casino and will feature a large variety of local and craft beers and will include a stage for live music. Rock & Brews launched in 2012 through a partnership between Simmons, Stanley, restaurateur Michael Zislis and business partners Dave and Dell Furano.

Potawatomi Casino Hotel is hosting a three-day hiring event at American Family Field’s Tailgate Haus this week for jobs at Rock & Brews, which is expected to open later this summer.

Simmons, a vocalist and bassist, and Stanley, a vocalist and rhythm guitarist, founded Kiss along with lead guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss. The four founding members were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.

Kiss, which got its start in New York City in 1973, is on its final concert tour that is scheduled to conclude at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 2. The current lineup includes Stanley, Simmons, guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer.

“The Forest County Potawatomi Tribe is honored to play a role in bringing Kiss to Crandon, Rock & Brews to Milwaukee, and people together to enjoy this next era of entertainment in Wisconsin,” Forest County Potawatomi Community Tribal Chairman James Crawford said.

Crandon International Raceway is located about 100 miles north of Green Bay in Forest County, where fewer than 10,000 people reside. The raceway has been home to world championship off-road races for more than 50 years.

The Sept. 1 performance by Kiss is a one-off show and will take place during a break the band has scheduled after its European leg of the tour, which concludes with a show in Norway on July 15. The tour is scheduled to kick back into gear on Oct. 7 in Australia.

The show at the Crandon International Raceway will be held on the Friday of Labor Day weekend and coincides with the racetrack’s premiere racing showcase, the 54th annual Polaris Crandon World Championship, which includes the Red Bull Crandon World Cup.

Kiss Fan Club ticket sales for the Crandon concert begin June 17, local market ticket sales on June 18, and all ticket sales on June 19.
