Lakeshore Trail
This marvelous route runs 6 miles from the Meyers Beach parking area to the cliffs above the sea caves and on to the three rustic backpack campsites. Trek 1.8 miles through the woods and you’ll arrive at the Crevasse, a massive crack in the sandstone with views to the water.
From here, you have about a half-mile walk above the lake, with views of some of the caves. Turn around where the trail veers into the woods toward the campsites, and it’s a round-trip hike of 4.8 miles.

Frog Bay Tribal National Park
The Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa opened these pristine 175 acres to the public. Much of it is rare boreal forest with a bit of wetlands, a creek ravine and a 4,000-foot undeveloped sandy beach that looks out toward five islands.

It is the first tribal national park in the U.S. Learn about the ecology and native culture from interpretive signs along 1.7 miles of rustic trail and boardwalks. From Red Cliff on Highway 13, follow Blueberry Road 3.5 miles due north to the park entrance.
Beaches
Meyers Beach offers long walks and some (chilly) swimming and wading, as well as the trailhead for the 6-mile Lakeshore Trail. Little Sand Bay also has a long stretch of sand and views out toward the islands.
