If you can go to only one Milwaukee Beer Week 2017 event, make it the beer brunch at Hinterland (222 E. Erie St., Suite 100). It’s the rare time that the Third Ward business opens for brunch (that’s April 23, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.). Yes, the beer will be plentiful – in the form of special taps and beer-inspired cocktails.

Chef Matt Kerley is making sure your stomach is a strong base for imbibing. His 13-item menu includes fried chicken with French toast; octopus pancake; pork hash with BBQ pork shoulder, red hot butter sauce and two over-easy eggs; braised pork belly with goat cheese polenta and slow egg; buckwheat pancakes with huckleberry jam and whipped cream; a brunch burger and fries; steak and eggs for two; and poached halibut with citrus salad and caramelized grapefruit vinaigrette. Prices $9-$28 (with the exception of steak for two, $65)
