Heirloom MKE dished out some good news this week. The grand opening of the seasonally focused business’s first brick-and-mortar location is Saturday, Aug. 26. This is particularly great to hear since it was just a month ago that their food truck caught fire, incurring damage they deemed “a total loss,” per Heirloom’s GoFundMe. This was also shortly before they were to announce the opening date in Bay View – in the former home of Lazy Susan (2378 S. Howell Ave.).
But now, date in hand, they’ll be serving up dishes that will be familiar (to fans of their food truck) and also some that are completely new. I don’t have intel on the menu yet, but some things you might see are the burrata cheese with arugula salad, the Heirloom burger with Carr Valley cheddar and the fried chicken sandwich. In any event, their reservation platform is open and taking reservations beginning the 26th.

Hours: Wed-Fri 4-10 p.m.; Sat-Sun 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Note that they won’t be open for Saturday lunch until Sept. 2! And they’re also not accepting reservations for lunch. So there.
