Glass + Griddle Has a New Name, Menu and Focus

The rebranded space will focus more on events.

The beer hall-restaurant Glass + Griddle, located on the old Pabst Brewing grounds (1130 N. Ninth St.), has a new name and menu. The rebranded restaurant and the adjacent event space called Venue 42 have been combined under one name, Bottle House 42.

The change was made to simplify branding and focus on events, according to Kaelyn Cervero, vice president of F Street Hospitality, which operates the businesses. “A big focus will be on the activation of the space, including open mic nights, comedy acts and beer dinners,” says Cervero.

The name honors the old Pabst Brewery. The building where Bottle House 42 is situated was once called building #42. It was where Pabst beer was bottled.

The new food menu features appetizers, sandwiches, greens, stacked sliders and full plates. Examples include a Brew City charcuterie board, fried cheese curds, Wisco poutine, double brat patty melt, the O-G smash burger, beet and avocado salad, honey chipotle BBQ ribs, chicken and waffles, and bourbon salmon ($9-$20).

Bottle House 42 also operates the beer garden and rooftop bar.

To celebrate the new name as well as Milwaukee, they’re throwing a celebration on 414 day (Wednesday April 14, 4-9 p.m.), featuring $4.14 cocktails, an open mic, tailgating activities, bonfires and swag giveaways.
