The Donut Squad Is Coming to the East Side!

Good news for East-Siders! Here’s what’s coming to the former Goldcoast Subs spot.

Donut Squad. Two words, one small space and a heap of colorful fried rings of dough (2264 N. Prospect Ave.). The walk-up spot soft-opens on Thursday, June 1 ‒ just in time for National Donut Day on Friday, June 2 ‒ and occupies the one-time home of Goldcoast (and Suburpia) Subs. The Squad’s arsenal of pastries includes traditional, specialty, filled and ‒ I’m told, still a “work in progress” ‒ ice cream sandwich doughnuts.

Its Facebook page and Instagram are filled with photos of doughnuts covered in frosting, cereal and crumbled cookies. Available toppings and fillings include Cap’n Crunch, Lucky Charms, s’mores, peanut butter and jelly, and Boston cream pie. (Doughnuts: $1.89-$3)

The venue will also sell Colectivo Coffee, milkshakes, juices and smoothies.

And if one donut shop is just not enough, we’ve compiled a guide to Milwaukee’s donut shops.
