If you follow chef celebrities, you’ve probably heard of Stephanie Izard, the first female chef to win Bravo’s Top Chef.
Izard runs several Chicago restaurants, all of which incorporate the name of a member of the animal family “Bovidae.” That animal would be a goat. Her restaurants include Girl & the Goat, and Duck Duck Goat.

Izard created a series of meal kits she calls Girl & the Goat-ceries. One of these kits combines some of her faves from Duck Duck Goat with a dish from Milwaukee’s DanDan (360 E. Erie St.). You can order the collaborative meal kit for pickup at DanDan on Saturday, Sept. 12. DanDan is known for its loose, but no less respectful, interpretation of Chinese cuisine. Izard calls her Chinese dishes “reasonably authentic.”
Each kit ($75 and feeds 2) features these dishes from Duck Duck Goat – Merchant Seafood shrimp and farm veggie slap noodles, beef and bone marrow potstickers, mango coconut dessert and almond cookies. It also includes DanDan’s tomato & kohlrabi salad with silken tofu, charred scallion with mustard greens. Order the kit here.
Note: the kit requires some cooking but can be prepared in less than an hour.
