Could Milwaukee’s Next Mural Be Its Most Popular Yet?

Milwaukee will be flying high this time next week.

Guess what, Milwaukee? We’re getting another mural!

This time it’s one by the internationally renowned street artist, Kelsey Montague. For several years now, Montague has been traveling the world, painting winged designs in major cities. Istanbul, Turkey. Cusco, Peru. Melbourne, Australia. And now Milwaukee too.

The wings, which are part of an ongoing series called “What Lifts You,” are popular with pedestrians, who like to snap photos of themselves standing in front of them, like selfie-obsessed angels, or birds.

This particular design will feature stylized peacock features. And it will be painted alongside the UW-Panther Arena, at 400 W. Kilbourn Avenue, on Monday, July 5.

The mural will be Montague’s first Wisconsin creation.
