Trocadero (1758 N. Water St., 414-272-0205), the East Side restaurant that late last year was sold to the owners of nearby Red Lion Pub (the former Brocach Irish Pub), continues its transition, with a new menu – due out Thursday Feb. 19. The new menu will bring back the French bistro focus it had when it opened in 2001. (trocadero was named for a stop in the Paris Metro system.) For a while, “Gastrobar” followed the name. It does no longer.
Also part of the changes is new executive chef Jeff Beale, formerly of The Capital Grille and Maggiano’s. Beale also handles the menu creation at Red Lion Pub. New items include Tannery Row bouillabaisse, cassoulet, swordfish au poivre, and steak frites. Some modest menu changes to the brunch menu are expected to happen in the next few weeks.
