Brewers to Debut New ‘City Connect’ Uniforms Friday

The latest edition of the Brewers’ City Connect uniforms is a tribute to Wisconsin.

The Milwaukee Brewers are going to look a little different on Friday night. When the team takes the field for their game against the Washington Nationals at American Family Field, they’ll be decked out in new uniforms.

The latest Nike MLB City Connect uniform aims for a statewide message, celebrating Wisconsin’s natural beauty and culture. The Brewers will wear the uniforms for the entire three-game series against the Nationals.

“Wisconsin is a special place – from its lakes and rivers to its farms, forests and festivals,” Brewers President of Business Operations Rick Schlesinger said in a statement. “This uniform is meaningful because it reflects the entire state we represent. It honors our heritage, celebrates our fans across every Wisconsin county and complements the unmatched passion they bring to this team every day.”

The Brewers original City Connect uniform, which was unveiled in 2022, will be officially retired following the launch of this new design.

The City Connect effort will extend beyond the uniforms to include, throughout the season, unique food and beverage offerings aligned with game dates when the team wears the City Connect uniforms. There will also be collaborations with local artists and a summer of statewide pop-ups, joining fans in their communities.

The new City Connect uniform’s blue color signifies Wisconsin’s shorelines, lakes and rivers. The cream accents represent beaches and sandstone bluffs, while the oranges and yellows throughout reflect the state’s sunsets from the Northwoods through the Driftless Area.

The custom “Wisco” text blends font influences from the early 20th-century American Association Brewers team, along with vintage brewery and supper club labels.

The shoulder sleeve and pant braid feature a wheat and barley design, paying homage to agricultural and the brewing industry. And the sleeve patch includes a new Barrelman over an outline of Wisconsin.

Wisconsin’s state motto, “Forward” is displayed inside the collar, while a jocktag with a fishing bobber celebrates Wisconsin fishing.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

In addition to this weekend’s series vs. the Nationals, the Brewers will wear the new uniforms on the following dates:

The Brewers also announced the debut, on Thursday, of a visual storytelling program through the team’s social media channels, anchored by the music of indie folk singer-songwriter and Eau Clair native Justin Vernon, best-known as the frontman of the Grammy Award winning band, Bon Iver.
